The CEEC and the newspaper ARA are organising the 2nd edition of the ARA-CEEC Conversations series next Tuesday, 4th February, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, at the Ateneu Barcelonès. During this event, we will explore the energy transition from an economic perspective, analysing how changes and transformations in the energy model are impacting productive sectors and economic activity in general.
In a context of climate emergency and unresolved geopolitical conflicts on a global scale, decarbonisation and energy sovereignty have become the main focus of a European Union that aims to continue leading economic and social progress worldwide. Promoting the green economy, reducing emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and increasing renewable energy generation are among the necessary actions to achieve climate goals and ensure prosperity across the continent.
This session, which will feature prominent experts in the fields of social economy and energy, will address the opportunities and challenges posed by the ecological transition from an economic perspective. These include the need to develop a new coordinated industrial strategy at the European level that incorporates greater investment in innovation. All of this must be made compatible with an economic policy that tackles emerging geopolitical challenges while ensuring the competitiveness of businesses and institutions in an increasingly complex world.
