At a key moment for the energy transition in Catalonia, on 29 April from 12:00 to 13:45, the Catalan Energy Cluster and ARA newspaper, with the support of the Catalan Energy Institute (ICAEN), are organising the event "No Fear of Renewables" at the Meier Auditorium in the MACBA. The event will provide a space for reflection and debate on the challenges and opportunities involved in the rollout of renewable energy.
The event will begin with an interview by journalist from the newspaper ARA, Antoni Bassas, with the new Director General of Energy, Marta Morera, shedding light on the strengths and weaknesses of the current decarbonisation process. It will explore how administrative barriers are being addressed, how society’s resistance to large renewable projects is being tackled, and why there is a need for a more participatory, locally rooted model.
Following this, a roundtable discussion featuring representatives from government, industry and civil society will offer a space to exchange perspectives and collectively imagine a more sustainable and fair energy future for Catalonia.
