At a key moment for the energy transition in Catalonia, on 17 June from 12:00 to 13:45, the CEEC and the newspaper ARA, with the support of the Catalan Institute of Energy, are organising the event “No Fear of Renewables” at the Meier Auditorium at MACBA. The aim of the event is to provide a space for reflection and debate around the challenges and opportunities of rolling out renewable energy.
The session will begin with an interview conducted by ARA journalist Antoni Bassas with the new Director General for Energy, Marta Morera, the Director of the Catalan Institute of Energy, Anna Camp, and the Director General of Energètica, Daniel Pérez, to shed light on the strengths and weaknesses of the current process, and to understand how administrative barriers, public opposition to renewables, and the need for a more participatory and locally rooted model are being addressed.
This will be followed by a round table featuring representatives from public administration, business, and civil society, allowing different perspectives to be shared and a more sustainable and fair energy future for Catalonia to be collectively imagined.
