On the 3rd and 4th of February 2025, Funseam and the Chair of Energy Sustainability at the University of Barcelona (UB) are organizing the XIII International Symposium. The two sessions, business and academic, will take place in Barcelona. On the 3rd, the Business Symposium will be held at the Foment del Treball headquarters, and on the 4th, the Academic Symposium will take place at the Aula Magna of the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona.
The Business Symposium "Europe: Path to Energy Sustainability" will delve into the main pillars of the strategy that will drive a structural transformation of the economy and the leadership that the private sector is exercising in this change.
The event will feature key players in this transformation, with two exceptional speakers: Enrico Letta, president of the Jacques Delors Institute and former prime minister of Italy, and Andris Piebalgs, European Commissioner for Energy (2004-2009) and International Cooperation (2010-2014). This year, there will also be an interesting panel discussion with the presidents and CEOs of the sponsoring companies to discuss "New Energy Vectors for Sustainability and Competitiveness."
The Academic Symposium "Strategies for 2050: Energy and Industry Perspectives" will provide a dynamic space for debate and reflection, analyzing how different actors in the innovative ecosystem can contribute to achieving climate and energy objectives.
Valentina Bosetti, professor in the Department of Economics at Bocconi University, and Tooraj Jamasb, professor of energy economics at Copenhagen Business School, will be the keynote speakers at this thirteenth edition of the Academic Symposium. Both are distinguished researchers with significant contributions in the fields of energy economics and environmental sustainability.
