The second part of the Tech-Slice II project begins, which has the coordination of INNOVACC Catalan Alternative Meat and Protein Cluster, as well as the participation of the CEEC and the companies Vila Rovira, Plana Hurtós Enginyers, Esynapsing Intelligent Business, Itisa and Armengol & Ros Consultants And Associates. Approved in the AEI 2023 call, the project focuses on energy improvement in the meat sector. In this second phase, the members of the consortium will work on the creation of a collaborative platform and on strategic control and definition.

If with the first consortium the main objective was the design, parameterization, adaptation of sensors and data collection, with this new project we want to develop a collaborative platform and BI for the integration of energy and productive data in the slicing room , collected through sonification and digitization.

Thus, the main objectives to be achieved with this project are:

• Study the best sensor solution for the different work areas, clean rooms and cooling rooms, as well as the hot water production equipment in Vila Rovira.

• Creation of software to be able to control the different temperatures and pressures in real time, adjust the optimal hours of operation both to be able to optimize energy consumption and to control the optimal temperatures of the slice of the company Vila Rovira SL.

• Register all the information from the temperature and pressure sensors in the cloud and integrate this information with the Vila Rovira production process to be able to have complete traceability of the temperatures to which the final product has been subjected and to guarantee correct food safety.

• Internally monitor the temperatures and pressures of the work rooms and refrigeration chambers and be able to regulate them according to energy rates.

• Alerts to incidents in real time, to have immediate alerts to any deviation from the established temperatures.

• Study the energy critical points of Vila Rovira's processes and achieve an improvement in the energy efficiency of the facilities based on the data collected digitally through the sensors and integrate them.

• Incorporate aspects related to the energy management of facilities and processes into the previously indicated alert system to facilitate decision-making.

With a total budget of €148,879.00, Tech-Slice II represents a commitment from both sectors to continue exploring existing synergies and business opportunities.

The tasks carried out so far will be presented in a webinar promoted by INNOVACC on November 22.
