The Financing Working Group of the Catalan Energy Cluster, together with the Real Estate Services Cluster (CSIM) organized an event yesterday at the NTT DATA headquarters to disseminate the opportunities and challenges linked to financing for buildings energy renovations.

The session started with a welcome by the coordinator for the Financing WG, Daniel Cerveró, and the cluster manager of the CSIM, Patricia Remiro, gave way to a round table to explain the "challenge" posed by the massive energy renovations from the point of view of estate administration and rehabilitation companies. In this round table, there were Núria Alemany, promoting partner of the CSIM, Montserrat Sánchez, of Món Vertical, and Carlos Egler, of the Sisquella Group. All of them emphasized the relevant and pedagogical role they are developing within the communities to promote sustainable building and the need to leverage Next Generation funds.

Sánchez emphasized the importance of transcending corrective maintenance as well as the awareness that the building begins at the street door and not at home. In addition, she highlighted the urgency and importance of the Renovations Office of the CSIM, as a one-stop shop for 360º support for estate administrators, where specialized companies will act as advisors.

Then, the session continued with a second part dedicated to current financing options, which began with a presentation by the director of the Next Generation European funds program of the Catalan Housing Agency (CHA), Marta Martínez. Martínez gave an account of the state of the latest calls, the challenges and the measures being implemented by the CHA in order to assume the objectives at the end of June 2026.

In the field of private financing, the event also had a space in which several financial entities participated. Vinyet Pages (BBVA), Sandra Bautista (UCI), Montserrat Burriel (Banc Sabadell), José María Isardo (IESA) and Agustín Hernández (INMHO) presented the solutions and conditions they're offering to the communities to financially undertake the energy renovations and accompany them throughout the life cycle of the loan. These interventions were followed by the vision of rehabilitation agents Enric Solano (Catalana of Projectes Arquitectónics) and Iván Madrigal (EOSZENIT Energy), who play a key role in the process.
