Today, the founding meeting of the new Sustainable Building Working Group was held, an initiative promoted by partners Wattega-ERF, GP9 and NTT Data. The group aims to address current challenges, such as the decarbonisation of the built stock and adaptation to new European regulations, with particular attention to the recent Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). In addition, the group will explore new trends and innovations that contribute to generating a positive and sustainable impact on the environment.
The day began with the presentation of the new EPBD, by Ainhoa Mata, head of the Buildings Unit of the Catalan Energy Institute (ICAEN), who set out the immediate and long-term challenges to comply with the objectives of decarbonisation of the built-up park.
Then, a debate was opened to collect proposals for the group's activity plan, where all the participants were able to contribute initiatives that will need to be developed in the coming months. The topics discussed include financing for rehabilitation, Energy Efficiency Certificates (CAEs), energy poverty, access to data, monitoring, certifications and training.
The session ended with visits to the NTT Data offices, where they were able to enjoy panoramic views of the city of Barcelona, and learn about the operation of a highly automated office certified with LEED platinum and WELL standards .
