On 10 July, we took part in the event "Social Licence in Ecological Transition Projects", the closing event of the Social Licence project, developed jointly with the Clúster de la Bioenergia de Catalunya and the Clúster de Residus de Catalunya, with the support of ACCIÓ and the collaboration of the ICAEN.
As part of the event, held at the Auditorium of the Administrative District of the Government of Catalonia, we presented the Guide to Social Licence Management and the Integration of Ecological Transition Projects in Catalonia, prepared by ARC Mediación Ambiental.
During the event, we shared the project's main outcomes and key lessons learned, as well as the new guide. This practical resource is aimed at companies and project developers and brings together methodologies, recommendations and tools to foster social acceptance and facilitate the deployment of renewable energy generation projects and waste management, treatment and recovery infrastructure.
The event also featured three business case studies showcasing different approaches to dialogue, stakeholder engagement and collaboration with local communities, while providing resources and proposals to promote more integrated, sustainable and resilient projects.
The key takeaway shared by all the speakers was clear: ecological transition projects must be developed with the territory, not merely within it.
